The Great Grey Owl is often referred to as the Great Grey Ghost. A large Owl with an average wingspan of 56 inches. The facial disk is used to focus sound and allows them to hear prey 2 ft under the snow. Yellow eyed owls have diverse feeding habits and are not strictly nocturnal or crepuscular.
